Immediate Wall Straightening in Tonawanda, NY
Challenge
The pressure from outside this Tonawanda home had caused one of the foundation walls to bow and crack. The homeowner was concerned for the stability of their home as well as the cosmetic portions of their finished basement. Left unrepaired, the wall would continue to deteriorate and become unsafe.
Solution
The bow in the wall was mild enough it was a good candidate for Immediate Wall Straightening. Scott and his crew dug out the outside around the wall to take the pressure off of the wall. The crew then installed PowerBraces on the interior of the basement. The top of the PowerBraces attached to the floor joists closest to the damaged wall and were bolted to the floor. The PowerBraces were then tightened one at a time. While not perfectly straight, the wall did become slightly straighter and is supported by the PowerBraces. The PowerBraces can also be tightened over time to potentially bring the wall more vertical.
