Waterproofing and Stopping Radon in Orchard Park
Challenge
A home with a radon problem also had water seeping in around the edge of the partially finished basement. Options were limited due to the concerns of radon being released into the home.
Solution
Flangeless WaterGuard interior drainage was installed around the entire basement. The WaterGuard was completely concreted over, allowing no radon to come up into the basement. To catch and trap water coming from the walls, CactusBoard was installed over the WaterGuard on the basement floor along the wall. The dimples of the CactusBoard trap the water and direct it into the WaterGuard.
A TripleSafe sump pump system was also installed and connected to the WaterGuard. A special lid was attached to the liner to prevent any radon from coming up.
