Most sump pumps have open crocks that allow water vapor out and debris to fall in. Debris in the crock can lead to the pump becoming damaged or even breaking. The water vapor escaping the crock can lead to musty smells in your basement and help mold to grow. 

All of our sump pump systems come with a sealed lid to prevent any of that from happening!
