Phase 4 – Week 3 of our three-week basement reconstruction in Aurora, NY.
If you’ve been following our progress to date, you will see how our transformation of this old, stone basement has evolved into the beginnings of an up-to-date living area. In the last two weeks we have secured the walls, trenched the floor - giving the area two extra feet of headspace, and treated the walls to prevent mold and moisture.
Week three, the cement floor has been poured - No-More-Dirt-Flooring! We ran drainage below the flooring to make it dry and prevent flooding. In photo number one you’ll see the installation of steal beams to support the new floor, along with the integrity of the building structure. We have also added Flex Duct for the HVAC unit to ensure maximum efficiencies and insulation.
The walls are taking shape. We have them prepped with CleanSpace and ready for framing and drywall to give this basement a finished look. Next step will be drywall and finishing touches.
We are narrowing in on the end of this job. This is our final week. Next time you see it, the room will be livable and healthy! We’ll show before and after shots as a reminder of where we started.
